The floating Wave Power Rig is a patented system for harvesting energy from ocean waves.
The model was made in summer 2005.
The top figure shows the Wave Power Rig.
An alternative can be to place a wind mill on top of the construction, forming a combined Wave and Wind Power Rig.
The size of the rig depends on the location and placed in the North Sea a proper size is about 150m long, 50m wide and 30m deep.

The Wave Power Rig is of the overtopping type as “Wave Dragon”, which is the rig that EC will place at sea outside Milford Haven in Wales.

Performance:
The ramp is pivoted in one end and floated at the other. Water is trapped and lead to the chamber where the turbine is placed.
